Why make it yourself?
1. Homemade cleaning products are less harsh than their shop bought equivalents, which often contain many chemicals. This is definitely something to consider if you are pregnant of have young children in the house.
2. It can be more affordable. Ingredients such as vinegar are not expensive and can be bought it bulk.
3. It is an opportunity to reduce your consumption of plastic bottles, as most basic ingredients for homemade cleaning products come in glass or card packaging.
4. You can use whatever scents you like and are in total control of what goes into your product!
What do you need?
A spray bottle (glass is better when using essential oils)
½ Cup Distilled white Vinegar
¼ Cup of Baking Soda
1 ½ Cups of Water
20 drops of Rose Essential Oil (or any scent you prefer)
What to Do?
Simply mix all the ingredients in a measuring jug (I find a jug easier than a bowl, otherwise you need a funnel). Once the soda has dissolved, pour into your bottle. Hey presto!
How to Use?
Give a little shake before you use it and simply spray around the sink, tub or shower. You can let it sit for a few minutes as the essential oils diffuse around your house, before rinsing or wiping away.
