This apple crumble is the ultimate autumn dessert! Warm, comforting, and sweet, it’s perfect for family gatherings or a cosy night in. With just a handful of ingredients, you can whip it up quickly!
Ingredients
For the crumble:
- 300g plain flour
- Pinch of salt
- 175g brown sugar
- 200g unsalted butter, cubed
For the filling:
- 450g apples, peeled and cut into 1cm pieces
- 50g brown sugar
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C Fan/Gas 4).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- In another bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon, mixing gently.
- Grease a 24cm ovenproof dish and layer the apple mixture at the bottom, then top with the crumble.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
