Do you love the smell of freshly baked bread running through your home? With the invention of bread machines, making your own has never been easier. Whip up a fresh loaf in a matter of minutes. A great way to avoid ultra processed shop bought bread too.
Ingredients:
350g malted seed bread flour
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp caster sugar or honey
1 tsp fast-action dried yeast
190ml slightly warm water
Half tsp salt
1. Add the salt to the base of the bread maker's bread pan, then pour in the water, oil and sugar. Add the flour, but don't mix it in. Make a well in the middle of the flour and add the yeast. Close the lid.
2. Set the bread maker for a ‘basic’ loaf or similar – the function should include kneading, rising and baking and take 3-4 hours. Use the crust darkening function if you have it on your machine.
3. Carefully release the bread from the pan and tip onto a wire rack to cool completely. Remove the kneading blade if in the base of the bread.
Your delicious homemade bread will stay fresh when wrapped at room temperature for up to three days.
